Social Networking Sites

Social networking sites have been around for some time now. I can remember when I was in grammar school there was a site called “black planet”, and it was a craze that everyone was talking about. When I now see; my space, facebook, twitter, instgram its all over again. When these site-started it was like everyone was wanted to join and the thought of privacy, stalking was not a concern. Now in days, this is the biggest issues that one is faced with when considering using social networking sites. But as we all know although they all are geared towards different things.

My Space

This site came very suddenly. When I was in High School this site was on everyone’s top things to do. In comparison to the sites that we currently have for social networking it was not my favorite. It was not interactive enough for fellow users to communicate with each other; other than messaging. That was very similar to email.

Facebook

This I would have to say this is the most used social networking sites’. It has been the most developed by far compared to all the rest. The start of it was a huge success and the “buzz” that was brought from it has been amazing. I’m surprised its not a word in the dictionary yet. I think this is one of my most favorite social networking sites. It is very beneficial for the use if used correctly. The programs that are connected with its use are endless, from iphones being about to update information from FB and automatically change pictures, email address, phone numbers, name etc. has been a great expansion and use for the consumer.

Twitter

I think twitter is very good for promotions and that’s about it. I don’t really use it that much other than when I update my FB statuses it also goes to twitter. For marketing people this site is by far the best at it and I think that’s why I don’t like it as much as FB.

Instagram

This “picture posting” site is also something I use frequently. I don’t know if it is actually a site as an App for iphone and android users. Instagram I think is one of the best “get to the point” social networking sites. Its just pictures and you know what they say, “ a picture is worth 1,000 words”. Instagram covers the picture sharing of FB and the promotion and marketing of twitter, and now in days its like they are all connected to each other so it pretty user friendly.
